Demi Lovato reveals she feels freer and more authentic after cutting off her long hair – Daily Mail

Demi Lovato reveals she feels freer and more authentic after cutting off her long hair as she rocks pink dye job and plaid pantsuit in Instagram snaps

She says her new short hair makes her feel ‘free’.

And on Monday, Demi Lovato shared some behind the scenes poses in which she’s rocking a pink dye job and a designer pink plaid pantsuit that she wore for an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Tagging pro photographer Angelo Kritikos, Lovato shared several pics to her Instagram.

The 28-year-old is back in the spotlight with her docuseries, Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil.

In it, she details her 2018 near-fatal overdose and subsequent journey to sobriety.

Sitting down with DeGeneres on Monday, she explained how she feels more free and authentic since cutting her hair.

‘I feel like I used to hide behind my hair,’ said Lovato, who confessed that she used to cover her body with  her long locks when she was battling eating disorders.

‘When I started doing all this work on myself I thought, ‘what is something I’ve been holding onto my whole life that I need to let go of?” she explained about her decision to get her head shorn.

Lovato also told DeGeneres that she hopes her docuseries will help people realize they can overcome their ‘deepest, darkest struggles.’

She also said another reason for telling her story is to ‘set the record straight.’

‘I just wanted to tell the world, ‘Hey, this is what happened, this is how I got through it, and hopefully this can help you too,” she explained.

‘Because this journey has been such a wild ride but I’ve learned so much and I can’t wait to share it with the world.’

The trailer that dropped last week shocked Lovato’s fans with its candid confession that she’s suffered ‘three strokes’ as a result of her overdose as well as ‘a heart attack’ which left her with ‘brain damage’.

As she continued to reflect on the life changing incident and the effect it has continued to have on herself, her friends, and family, Demi compared her resiliency to that of a cat with nine lives.

‘I’ve had a lot of lives, like my cat. You know, I’m on my ninth life,’ she stressed. ‘I’m ready to get back to doing what I love, which is making music.’
